GenteraMed is constantly on the search for the most innovative and modern technology to enhance the life and overall health of our patients. As October rolls in, a month in which we bring awareness to BREAST CANCER, Gentera has the pleasure to introduce the innovative breast thermal activity indicator, Celbrea®.

Breast cancer is the second more prevalent cause of cancer deaths in women in the United States, and having regular annual screenings at the age of 40 and above is recommended to increase the chances of early detection. Early detection of any tumor leads to a nearly 100% survival rate and this is why Celbrea® is the breast health field’s most innovative add-on to the existing standard evaluation protocol. And the best part? Celbrea doesn’t have an age limit, giving any woman at any age peace of mind.

Celbrea® is a thermal activity indicator that is used as an adjunct to routine physical examination, mammography, and other established procedures for the detection of breast diseases. Celbrea® can be performed in the comfort of your doctor’s office within 15 minutes, without requiring a visit to an imaging center.

What is Celbrea®?

Celbrea® is an FDA-cleared, affordable medical device. It’s composed of two disposable pads that cover the surface of each of the patient’s breasts to detect temperature changes on the surface of the breast skin. Celbrea® is noninvasive, painless, and in just 15 minutes it may alert the physician and patient of a potential underlying breast pathology.

How does Celbrea® work?

With 1000+ micro-sensors, Celbrea® detects temperature differences on the surface of the breast skin. Studies have shown that breast tumors have a slightly higher temperature than surrounding breast tissue because they begin to divide more quickly and form new blood vessels, a process known as angiogenesis.

What information will Celbrea® give me and my doctor?

Celbrea® can identify areas on the breast that have higher temperatures, which may be related to breast disease. The Celbrea® system can inform the physician and the patient of what is their next best step for evaluation. If abnormalities are detected, the next step is usually a mammography, MRI, or another imaging test.

Who can benefit from a Celbrea® test?

  • Celbrea® is a great choice for women under 40 without the need to be recommended to start screening, but who may have a concern about their breast health and desire more information.
  • Women who need frequent testing due to family history, genetic mutation (BRCA1, BRCA2), ethnicity and other risk factors that increase the chances for breast disease.
  • Women with dense breasts who often need more comprehensive screenings and may be subject to a higher risk of developing breast cancer.
  • Individuals with gaps in access to healthcare. Celbrea® is an affordable device that can be useful to women with difficulties accessing mammography and other standards of breast healthcare.
